FAQs
-
Chiltern Garden Buildings will usually complete a re-thatch within half a day.
-
On average, you will need to re-thatch your garden building roof every 6 to 8 years. This ensures the roof remains of high quality and is in good condition. The thatch we use will need more care and attention than the traditional thatch used on houses. Chiltern Garden Buildings use South African Cape Reed, which is harvested and manufactured into a tile.
-
Your garden building roof thatch will last for approximately 5- 8 years. In some cases, the thatch will not need to be replaced after this amount of time. However, it is always worth checking after 5 years have passed. If you are unsure if your thatch needs replacing, please email images of your building and we will do our best to advise you.
